PDF Wish Fund application

The Indiana Children's Wish Fund was founded in 1984 and is the only wish granting organization in the State of Indiana accredited by an a member of the Association of Wish Granting Organizations. Indiana Children's Wish Fund is a Not-for-Profit 501C3 recognized charity registered with the State of Indiana. We are NOT affiliated with or a part of any national or other wish granting groups.

The Indiana Children's Wish Fund grants wishes to Indiana children between ages of 3 and 18 who suffer from life-threatening illnesses and are referred on a daily basis by Indiana hospitals.

The wishes range from trips to Disney World to encounters with celebrities, to computers to toys to ponies, etc. Often times the granting of a wish is the only bright spot a child and the family has to look forward to and makes enduring painful treatments a little more acceptable.

This organization is funded by fund-raising events such as the annual Portrait of Wishes Dinner Dance (where tables are 'sold' to Indiana corporations and art objects are auctioned); golf tournaments; Indianapolis Charity Horse Show; fishing tournaments, etc.

For every dollar donated to the Indiana Children's Wish Fund, .80cents goes to granting wishes.

Letter From The Executive Director

We are proud to be celebrating our 23rd year of granting wishes. During these many years, the one thing that has never changed is the positive outlook on life our wish children convey and the hopes and dreams they have planned for their future. Many see their dreams fulfilled. Many do not!
Losing these children is hard, but knowing that we have had an opportunity to bring them some joy during a difficult period, is a blessing to all of us. We thank our many supporters and volunteers for helping us make these children’s wishes come true. Indiana Children’s Wish Fund is about teamwork and there is no doubt that we have the best team anyone could possibly wish to have.
God bless each and every one of you and may all of your wishes come true!

Terry Ceaser-Hudson
Executive Director

Put On Your Dancing Shoes

What little girl doesn't dream of becoming a beautiful ballerina able to dance on her toes with elegance, in a costume made for an angel. Our wish child Sophia had that dream and was even taking ballet lessons at the age of three. Unfortunately at the age of four she was having balancing problems and was sent to a doctor where she was diagnosed with a malignant brain tumor. After undergoing surgery, radiation and chemotherapy Sophia was ready for some serious wish granting. When asked what she wished for, her response was “to see the big girls in the real Nutcracker.” Sophie's wish was granted before Christmas when she and her family traveled New York City for five days where she experienced the Nutcracker first hand and enjoyed the sights of New York. This little dancer sat on the edge of her seat during the entire Nutcracker performance. She was later taken backstage so that she could have her picture taken with the star ballerina and the rest of the dancers. When she returned home from New York, Indiana Children’s Wish Fund arranged for Sophia to have a walk-on part for the opening performance of the Nutcracker with Ballet International. She was given a beautiful costume and the opportunity to realize her dream as a ballerina that looked like an angel. Many thanks to Ballet International for their support and kindness to this precious little girl.
